COLONIA, N.J. (Feb. 17, 2025) – Mercy University men's lacrosse freshman Cole Hunsberger (Waterloo, Ontario/Grand River Collegiate Institute) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for Week One and sophomore Jake Norton (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale), graduate student Jimmy Osorio (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Newberry College), senior Ryan Smith (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) and junior Kenneth Summit (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Limestone University) have been tabbed to the Honor Roll.

Hunsberger scored five goals in Mercy's 17-5 win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday and added three ground balls in his collegiate debut.

Norton had a game-high seven ground balls with a game-high-tying two caused turnovers in Mercy's 17-5 win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday.

Osorio had a game-high 10 points on five goals and five assists to go along with five ground balls in the win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday.

Smith had two goals and four assists to go along with a ground ball and caused turnover in the win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday.

Summit went 13-of-19 on faceoffs with five ground balls and an assist in Mercy's win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday. 

The awards are the first for all five this season and Mercy has now earned five awards on the year.

Head Coach Ryan MacSpadyen and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they play at Georgian Court at 3 p.m.
