DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 25, 2025) – Mercy University men's basketball sophomores Derek Long (Milford, Conn./Deerfield Academy) and Zein Wahdan (Alexandria, Egypt/Springfield Commonwealth Academy) have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division II Men's Basketball Academic All-District Team.

Long takes home All-District honors for the first time in his career and currently has a 3.6 GPA as a Business major. The sophomore averaged 7.3 points per game and shot 38.2 percent from downtown.

Wahdan receives All-District accolades for the first time and has a 3.79 GPA as a Business Administration major. The sophomore averaged 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in 25 games.

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
