DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (June 3, 2025) – Mercy University baseball seniors Gabe Sanders (Dunedin, Fla./Central Alabama CC) and Matthew Manzoeillo (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon) and juniors John Nisco (Tarrytown, N.Y./Sleepy Hollow), Zach Ashline (Colonie, N.Y./Colonie Central) and David Bernard Jr. (Schenectady, N.Y./Herkimer CC) have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Baseball Team.
Sanders earns a spot on the All-District Team for the first time. The senior holds a 3.81 GPA as an Exercise Science major. The outfielder was named Second Team All-ECC after hitting .302 with 33 RBI, 34 runs, 54 hits, 15 doubles and four home runs. The one-time ECC Player of the Week recorded his 100th career hit during the season.
Manzoeillo is named Academic All-District for the first time. The pitcher holds a 3.51 GPA as an Accounting major. The senior was named Second Team All-ECC after going 6-4 with a 5.12 ERA in 51.0 innings with 34 strikeouts, tying the single-season school record in wins.
Nisco receives All-District honors for the first time. The junior has a 3.55 GPA as a Criminal Justice major. The outfielder was named D2CCA Second Team All-Region and NCBWA Second Team All-Region. The First Team All-ECC recipient hit .337 with 66 hits, 50 runs, 56 RBI, nine home runs, nine doubles, five triples, and 13 stolen bases. Nisco ranked fourth in the ECC in runs, third in home runs and was second in RBI. The junior set a single-season school record for RBI.
Ashline takes home All-District accolades for the first time. The junior has a 3.56 GPA as a Sport Management major. The designated hitter was named Second Team All-ECC after hitting .279 with 37 RBI, eight home runs, 27 runs, 50 hits, and 12 doubles. Ashline ranked fifth in the ECC in home runs and recorded his 100th career hit during the season.
Bernard Jr. is tabbed All-District for the first time. The junior has a 3.66 GPA as a Finance major. The first baseman hit .279 with 35 RBI, four home runs, 13 doubles, two triples and 24 runs scored.
