DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (July 1, 2025) – Mercy University men's lacrosse seniors Ryan Smith (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) and Owen Stephenson (Glen Rock, N.J./UDC) and graduate student Jimmy Osorio (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Newberry College) have been named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Scholar All-Americans.
Smith earns Scholar All-American honors after graduating with a 3.35 GPA as a General Business major. The senior was named USILA All-American Honorable Mention, USILA Second Team All-Region and First Team All-ECC. The midfielder was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week once and was selected to play in the USILA Senior All-Star Game. In 2025, Smith had 22 goals, 24 assists and 46 points, leading the team in assists and ranking second in points. The senior ends his career with 46 goals, 50 assists, 96 points and 28 ground balls in 43 games.
Stephenson takes home Scholar All-American honors after graduating with a 3.45 GPA as a Communication Arts major. The senior was named USILA Second Team All-American, USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention, USILA Second Team All-Region, ECC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC. The defender had 31 caused turnovers and 55 ground balls, leading the team in caused turnovers and was second in ground balls. Stephenson ends his Mercy career with 96 ground balls and 47 caused turnovers in 29 games.
Osorio receives Scholar All-American honors after finishing with a 3.66 GPA as a Business Management major. The graduate student was named USILA All-American Honorable Mention, USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention, USILA Second Team All-Region, ECC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC. The attackman played in the USILA Senior All-Star Game and ended the season with 50 goals, 13 assists, 63 points and 20 ground balls, leading the team in goals and points.
