COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Men's Lacrosse junior Cameron Dorfman (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and sophomore Cole Hunsberger (Waterloo, Ontario/Grand River Collegiate Institute) have been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll for Week Two.
Dorfman went 2-0 in goal with 28 saves, a .667 save percentage and 7.25 goals-against average. The junior opened the week with 10 saves and just six goals allowed in Mercy's 16-6 win over RV Georgian Court on Wednesday. Dorfman ended the week with a career-high-tying 18 saves with just eight goals in the Mavericks' 9-8 win at RV Wilmington on Saturday. The junior made key saves down the stretch, allowing Mercy to take a late lead. Dorfman recorded his 300th career save in the win.
Hunsberger had a team-high 10 points on the week on five goals and five assists to go with six ground balls as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with a game-high six points on four goals and two assists to go with four ground balls in Mercy's 16-6 win over RV Georgian Court on Wednesday. Hunsberger ended the week with a goal, three assists and two ground balls in the 9-8 win at RV Wilmington on Saturday.
The award is the second for Dorfman this season and the first for Hunsberger. The Mavericks have now earned four awards on the year.
Head Coach Ryan MacSpadyen and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday when they play at Bentley at 12 p.m.
