Meyer, Marino, LaMonica and Grzelaczyk Sweep ECC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Women's Lacrosse sophomore Kayden Meyer (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for Week Five, senior Emily Marino (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) has been tabbed Defensive Player of the Week, senior Olivia LaMonica (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) has been named Goalie of the Week, and freshman Jessica Grzelaczyk (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) has been tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Meyer had a game-high-tying five points on four goals and one assist with two caused turnovers and one ground ball in Mercy's 17-16 upset win over #9 Saint Leo on Thursday.

Marino had a game-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers in Mercy's 17-16 upset win over #9 Saint Leo on Thursday.

LaMonica made seven saves and came up with a key caused turnover late in the fourth quarter that set up the game-winning goal in Mercy's 17-16 upset win over #9 Saint Leo on Thursday.

Grzelaczyk had three goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal with 2:07 left in the fourth quarter, in Mercy's 17-16 upset win over #9 Saint Leo on Thursday.

The award is the second for Meyer this season, the second for Marino, the first for LaMonica and the fourth for Grzelaczyk. Mercy has now earned 14 awards on the year.

Head Coach Dawn Sachs and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday when they host Molloy at 4 p.m.
