Secoda and Mammola Named to ECC Softball Honor Roll

COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Softball senior Mackayla Secoda (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and sophomore Mikaela Mammola (Pawling, N.Y./Pawling) have been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Softball Honor Roll for Week Five.

Secoda pitched 6.0 scoreless innings with a 1-0 record, two hits allowed and four strikeouts. The senior pitched a scoreless inning of relief against Minot State on Monday with one strikeout and ended the week with 6.0 shutout innings and three strikeouts to earn the win over Ohio Dominican on Tuesday.

Mammola hit a team-high .600 (6-for-10) with a team-high four RBI to go with two stolen bases and two runs as Mercy went 2-2 on the week. The sophomore opened the week going 3-for-5 with two RBI against Saint Anselm and Minot State on Monday. The outfielder then went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs in Mercy's wins over Saint Michael's and Ohio Dominican on Tuesday.

The awards are the first for both this season and Mercy has now earned four awards on the year.

Head Coach Jaime Lorenzo and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they host STAC at 2:30 p.m.
