DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Mercy University Baseball Team is ranked No. 8 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Top 10 Poll.
Mercy is ranked No. 8 in the poll for the fourth straight week after going 3-2 last week with three wins over D'Youville. The Mavericks are currently 14-13 on the year and have been led by senior Kolongi Goins who is batting a team-high .400 with 12 RBI and 19 runs. Junior Nevin Scaperotti is batting .394 with 12 RBI and is 4-1 on the mound with a team-best 2.64 ERA and 41 strikeouts.
Head Coach Chris Schoen and the Mavericks resume action on Friday when they host Staten Island for a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
