The score remained 2-1 until the seventh inning when Mercy scored a run to tie the game at 2-2. Bernard Jr. doubled to lead off the inning and scored on a Hoti double down the left field line.

The Mavericks took a 4-2 lead in the eighth inning. Koch and sophomore Geneo Savoca (Albany, N.Y./University at Albany) both singled and Koch advanced to third after an error by the catcher.
