DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Mercy University Baseball Team is ranked No. 6 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Top 10 Poll.
Mercy moves up two spots in the poll after going 4-0 last week against Staten Island. The Mavericks are currently 18-13 on the year and have been led by junior Nevin Scaperotti who is batting a team-high .417 with 14 RBI and is 5-1 on the mound with a 2.24 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 52.1 innings. Senior Zach Ashline has a team-high 28 RBI and three home runs.
Head Coach Chris Schoen and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they host Dominican at 3 p.m.
