DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Mercy University Baseball Team is ranked No. 8 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Top 10 Poll.
Mercy remains the same in the poll after going 3-1 last week against Queens. The Mavericks are currently 26-22 on the year and have been led by senior Kolongi Goins who is batting a team-high .368 with 24 RBI and by junior Nevin Scaperotti who is 6-2 on the mound with a 2.71 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 79.2 innings. Scaperotti is also hitting .357 with 26 RBI.
Head Coach Chris Schoen and the Mavericks resume action on Thursday when they face STAC in the ECC Championship at 3 p.m. at the Mitchel Athletic Complex.
