Miller, Coluccio, Secoda, McSweeney and Perrone Named to ECC Softball Honor Roll

COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Softball juniors Averi Miller (Las Vegas, Nev./Arbor View) and Julianna Coluccio (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek Regional), senior Mackayla Secoda (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), sophomore Lauren McSweeney (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and freshman Madelyn Perrone (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) have been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Softball Honor Roll for Week 11.

Miller hit a team-high .500 (7-for-14) with three runs, one RBI, two doubles and one stolen base as Mercy went 3-1. The junior went 2-for-3 with a run in the game two win over Molloy on Monday and went 5-for-8 with an RBI, two doubles and two runs in the split at CSI on Saturday.

Coluccio hit .429 (6-for-14) with one RBI, four runs and three doubles as Mercy went 3-1. The junior went 2-for-3 with a run and two doubles in the game one win over Molloy on Monday. The third baseman then went 4-for-8 with three runs, an RBI and a double in the split at CSI on Saturday.

Secoda went 1-1 with a 0.00 ERA in 9.2 innings with seven strikeouts across three appearances. The senior pitched a complete game with no earned runs allowed and six strikeouts to earn the win over Molloy on Monday. Secoda then pitched 2.0 scoreless innings of relief to close out the win in Mercy's game one win at CSI on Saturday.

McSweeney went 1-0 with a 0.70 ERA and three strikeouts in 10.0 innings. The sophomore pitched a complete game shutout with just four hits allowed to earn the win over Molloy in game two on Monday. McSweeney ended the week allowing one run in 3.0 innings at CSI on Saturday.

Perrone hit .273 (3-for-11) with three RBI as Mercy went 3-1. The freshman went 1-for-3 with two RBI in the sweep of Molloy on Monday. Perrone drove in the go-ahead run in both games. Perrone ended the week going 2-for-8 with an RBI in the split at CSI on Saturday.

The award is the fifth for Miller, the fourth for Coluccio, the fourth for Secoda, the fourth for McSweeney and the third for Perrone. Mercy has now earned 34 awards on the year.

Head Coach Jaime Lorenzo and the Mavericks resume action on Thursday when they face D'Youville in the ECC Championship at 3 p.m. at STAC.
