Four Mavericks Named to ECC Baseball All-Conference Teams

COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Baseball senior John Nisco (Tarrytown, N.Y./Sleepy Hollow) and juniors Dylan Koch (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Pace University) and Nevin Scaperotti (Stormville, N.Y./Carmel) have been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Baseball First Team All-Conference and sophomore Andre Jenkins (Chester, N.Y./Chester Academy) has been named Second Team All-Conference, as announced by the conference earlier today.

Nisco is named First Team All-ECC for the second straight year. The four-time ECC Honor Roll recipient has appeared in 47 games making 46 starts and is hitting .354 with 33 RBI, 62 hits, 14 doubles, 38 runs, three home runs, two triples and 14 stolen bases. The outfielder leads the team in hits and doubles and is second on the team in runs. The senior is tied for the ECC lead in doubles and recorded his 100th career RBI and run scored during the season. The outfielder is also third in the ECC in hits. Nisco recorded a season-high four RBI going 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles and a home run in the win over Queens on March 14th.

Koch takes home All-Conference honors following his first season as a Maverick. The one-time ECC Player of the Week has appeared in 46 games making 45 starts with a .321 average, 59 hits, 40 runs, 11 doubles, four home runs, three triples, 40 RBI and 25 stolen bases. The three-time ECC Honor Roll recipient leads the team in stolen bases and runs scored and is second in hits, doubles, triples, home runs and RBI. The shortstop leads the ECC in stolen bases, is fifth in hits, and seventh in RBI. The junior had a season-high four RBI, going 2-for-5 with a run and a home run against Staten Island on April 24th.

Scaperotti receives First Team All-Conference honors for the first time after being named Second Team All-ECC and ECC Rookie of the Year in 2024. The three-time ECC Pitcher of the Week has made 12 starts on the mound and is 6-2 with a 2.71 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 79.2 innings pitched. The five-time ECC Honor Roll recipient has tied the single-season school record for wins and recorded his 100th career strikeout earlier in the season. Scaperotti leads the ECC in ERA, is third in wins, sixth in strikeouts and leads the conference in innings pitched. The junior has also hit .357 with 46 hits, 26 RBI and eight doubles.

Jenkins is named Second Team All-Conference after earning First Team All-ECC honors last season. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient has made 12 starts on the mound and is 5-5 with a 5.18 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 74.2 innings pitched. The sophomore leads the team in strikeouts and is second wins in and innings pitched. Jenkins is second in the ECC in innings pitched and is second with three complete games. The sophomore pitched 6.0 shutout innings with five strikeouts to earn the win over Goldey-Beacom on February 13th.

Head Coach Chris Schoen and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they face STAC in the ECC Championship at 3 p.m. at the Mitchel Athletic Complex.
