COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Softball freshman Emma Jackson (Marlboro, N.Y./Marlboro) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Softball Co-Rookie of the Year, headlining five Mavericks named to the All-Conference teams. Juniors Allison Murphy (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland), Averi Miller (Las Vegas, Nev./Arbor View) and Dylan Reyer (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) have been named First Team All-Conference and Jackson and sophomore Lauren McSweeney (Islip, N.Y./Islip) have earned Second Team All-Conference, as announced by the conference earlier today.
Jackson is named Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Conference after being named ECC Rookie of the Week twice. The freshman becomes Mercy's first Rookie of the Year since Cayla Crawford in 2023. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient has appeared in 38 games making 37 starts with a .322 average, 37 hits, 27 runs, 16 RBI, five doubles, three triples and four stolen bases. The outfielder had a season-high three RBI against Staten Island (4/10) and Post (4/21).
Murphy earns First Team All-ECC honors for the first time after being named Second Team All-ECC last season. The junior has started all 40 games and is hitting .369 with 40 RBI, 40 runs, 52 hits, 14 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 11 stolen bases. The four-time ECC Honor Roll recipient leads the team in runs, doubles, RBI and is second in hits, home runs and stolen bases. The second baseman is second in the ECC in runs, sixth in hits, third in doubles, second in RBI and seventh in stolen bases. The junior recorded her 100th career hit and run scored during the season. She had a season-high four RBI against Queens (4/4), Staten Island (4/10) and Holy Family (4/12).
Miller is named All-Conference for the first time in her career. The junior has started all 40 games and is hitting .414 with 55 hits, 30 RBI, 14 stolen bases, 24 runs, 11 doubles, three triples and one home run. The five-time ECC Honor Roll recipient leads the team in average, hits and stolen bases. The shortstop is second on the team in doubles and triples. Miller ranks fifth in the ECC in average, is second in hits and is fifth in stolen bases. She had a season-high five RBI against Post on April 21st.
Reyer takes home First Team All-Conference honors after being named Second Team All-Conference last season. The junior has played in 39 games making 37 starts with a .308 average, 36 hits, 27 runs, four triples, three doubles, 17 RBI and eight stolen bases. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient leads the team in triples and is second in the ECC in triples. The outfielder had a season-high three RBI with three runs and a triple against Molloy on April 2nd.
McSweeney earns All-Conference honors for the first time in her career. The sophomore has appeared in 19 games in the circle making 12 starts with an 8-6 record, 2.82 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 84.1 innings pitched. The one-time ECC Pitcher of the Week leads the team in ERA and is second in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched. The three-time ECC Honor Roll recipient is second in the ECC in ERA, fifth in wins, and second in batting average against (.244). McSweeney tossed a complete game shutout with just four hits allowed in the 1-0 win over Molloy on April 27th.
Head Coach Jaime Lorenzo and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they face D'Youville in the ECC Championship at 3 p.m. at STAC.
