DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - The Mercy University Softball Team has been ranked eighth in the third NCAA East Regional Rankings released earlier today.

Eight teams are taken from the East, Atlantic, Central, Midwest, South Central, South, Southeast and West Regions to make up the tournament field. The winners of the ECC, CACC and NE10 Conference Tournaments earn automatic bids to the tournament from the East Region. Mercy looks to qualify for the program's second-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first since 2017. The Mavericks are currently 24-16 on the year.

Head Coach Jaime Lorenzo and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they face D'Youville in the ECC Championship at STAC at 3 p.m.
