DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy University Women's Lacrosse seniors Emily Marino (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon), Olivia LaMonica (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) and Andrea Mott (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place), junior Riley Wallace (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and sophomores Ashlinn Kelly (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) and Kayden Meyer (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division II Women's At-Large Academic All-District Team.
Marino is tabbed Academic All-District for the first time and graduated in May with a 3.87 GPA as an Early Education major. The senior was named ECC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Women's Lacrosse, IWLCA Second Team All-American, USA Lacrosse Magazine Third Team All-American, IWLCA First Team All-Region, ECC Defender of the Year and First Team All-ECC. Marino started all 20 games and had a team-high 37 caused turnovers and 50 ground balls. The senior played in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.
LaMonica earns All-District honors for the second straight year and graduated in May with a 3.91 GPA as a Pre-Physical Therapy major. The senior was named IWLCA First Team All-Region, ECC Goalie of the Year and First Team All-ECC after going 13-4 with 127 saves, a .446 save percentage and 10.12 goals-against average in 18 starts. The ECC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year was named ECC Goalkeeper of the Week three times after being named Second Team All-ECC last season. The IWLCA Senior All-Star Game participant ranked third on the team with 41 ground balls and was second in the ECC in save percentage.
Mott takes home All-District honors for the first time after graduating in May with a 3.95 GPA as a Health Science-Pre-Physical Therapy major. The Second Team All-ECC selection appeared in all 20 games and had 29 goals, 19 assists and 48 points.
Wallace is named All-District for the second straight year. The junior graduated in May with a 3.94 GPA as a Criminal Justice-Forensic Investigations major. The IWLCA Second Team All-Region selection and First Team All-ECC recipient appeared in all 20 games and had 41 goals, 10 assists, 51 points, 25 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers and 48 draw controls. She ranked sixth in the ECC in draw controls. The ECC Championship's Most Outstanding Player had a season-high five goals in the ECC Championship win over Roberts Wesleyan on May 2nd.
Kelly receives All-District honors for the first time and currently has a 3.64 GPA as a Nursing major. The IWLCA Second Team All-American, USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-American, ECC Midfielder of the Year and First Team All-ECC honoree started all 20 games and was second on the team with 74 points on 51 goals and 23 assists. The one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week and two-time Defensive Player of the Week also had 42 ground balls, 36 draw controls and 25 caused turnovers. She was second in the ECC in points, third in goals, seventh in assists, fourth in ground balls, and sixth in caused turnovers.
Meyer receives All-District accolades for the first time and currently has a 3.77 GPA as a Biomedical Sciences major. The IWLCA Second Team All-ECC and First Team All-ECC selection started all 20 games and had 58 goals, 16 assists, 74 points, 28 ground balls, 22 caused turnovers and 26 draw controls. The three-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week led the team in goals and was tied for second in points. Meyer was second in the ECC in goals and second in points.
