Gibbons ended his career with a strong month of May. The senior went 3-1 with a .562 save percentage, 45 saves and 9.38 goals against average. The goalkeeper received Second Team All-ECC honors and was tabbed USILA All-American Honorable Mention during the month. Gibbons opened the month with six saves and just one goal allowed in 43:54 minutes of action in Mercy’s ECC Semifinal win over Roberts Wesleyan on May 1st. The senior then made a month-high 15 saves to help lead the Mavericks to their first-ever ECC Tournament Championship with an 11-10 win over LIU Post on May 4th. The goalkeeper improved to 3-0 on the month when he made 14 saves to lead Mercy to their first-ever NCAA Tournament win over Seton Hill in their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance on May 8th. Gibbons ended his career with ten saves in Mercy’s Quarterfinal loss to Le Moyne on May 11th.
