Mercy University Athletics

Garvalosa had a strong month of May for the Mavericks, going 2-1 in goal with 26 saves and a .419 save percentage in three starts. The senior helped lead Mercy to their second ECC Championship and third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The goalkeeper opened the month with six saves in the Mavericks 19-7 ECC Semifinal win over D’Youville on May 5th. Garvalosa followed that up with 10 saves in Mercy’s 19-12 win over Roberts Wesleyan in the ECC Final on May 7th. The ECC Goalkeeper of the Year ended the month with 10 saves in the Mavericks narrow 18-17 loss to Stonehill in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on May 13th. Garvalosa was named Second Team All-American by the IWLCA and USA Lacrosse Magazine. She was also named First Team All-Region by the IWLCA and was selected to play in the IWLCA Division II Senior All-Star Game.
