Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy is 3-3 in their last six games and is coming off a 70-57 win over Queens on Wednesday. The Mavericks are looking to defeat Molloy for the first time since January 13, 2018. Mercy is searching for their first win at Molloy since February 23, 2005. The Mavericks are third in the ECC in free throw attempts (327) and fourth in makes (220). Mercy is led by redshirt junior Bryan Griffin who leads the nation with 13.1 rebounds per game. The forward is also No. 6 nationally in total rebounds (183), No. 7 in double-doubles (9) and No. 1 in defensive rebounds per game (9.64). Griffin is also fourth in the ECC in points per game (17.3) and leads the ECC with 1.9 blocks per game. Junior Nakeem Hamilton is second on the team with 14.1 points per game and leads the team with 1.0 steals per game. The guard is coming off a season-high 25 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in the win over Queens on Wednesday. Freshman Garrett Kirkland is third on the team with 7.3 points per game and is coming off an 11-point outing at Queens.
Scouting the Lions
Molloy has dropped three games in a row and is coming off a 104-89 loss at Bridgeport on Wednesday. The Lions are currently fourth in the ECC in points per game (77.0) and lead the ECC with 42.4 rebounds per game. Molloy is led by senior Nick Corbett who is second in the ECC with 21.2 points per game. The senior also averages 3.8 assists per game (No. 3 in ECC) and an ECC-best 3.4 three-pointers made per game. Senior Josh Dennis also averages double figures with 12.8 points per game on 51.9 percent shooting (No. 5 in ECC) with 2.4 assists per game. Junior Steven Torre records 9.6 points per game and shoots 45.9 percent from beyond the arc (No. 4 in ECC). Sophomore Pano Pavlidis produces 7.6 points per game and a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game (No. 4 in ECC).
