Brady Named IWLCA Second Team All-American

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (Jun. 9, 2021) – Mercy College women's lacrosse junior Micayla Brady (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) has been named Second Team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), as announced by the organization earlier today.

Brady earns All-American honors from the IWLCA for the first time after being named Third Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine last month. The junior was also named IWLCA First Team All-Region, ECC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC. Brady was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week four times and had a team-high 60 ground balls and 51 caused turnovers with one goal and two assists in 14 games.

The junior led the ECC in ground balls and caused turnovers and set a single-season school record for caused turnovers. She ranked in the top five nationally in caused turnovers per game and ground balls per game. Brady played a key role in helping lead the Mavericks to their third NCAA Tournament appearance. The junior had a career-high 11 ground balls and nine caused turnovers in Mercy's ECC Semifinal win over STAC on May 6th.
