WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Nov. 7, 2022) – Mercy College volleyball senior Yarianne Gonzalez (Manati, P.R./Monroe College) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Volleyball Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season and senior Larissa Schneid (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Iowa Western CC) was tabbed to the Honor Roll for Week 11.
Gonzalez had a team-high 83 assists with 19 digs as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened the week with 44 assists and 11 digs against first-place Daemen on Saturday. The setter ended the week with 39 assists and eight digs in the win over D'Youville on Sunday.
Schneid had a team-high 25 kills with a team-high 30 digs as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened the week with a team-high 15 kills and 19 digs against Daemen on Saturday. The outside hitter ended the week with 10 kills and 11 digs in the win over D'Youville on Sunday.
The award is the sixth earned by Gonzalez and Schneid this season. Mercy has now earned 20 awards on the year.
Head Coach Ana Todorovic and the Mavericks resume action on Friday, November 11th when they play in an ECC Semifinal at Daemen at 5 p.m.
