DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 28, 2023) – Mercy University men's soccer junior Julian Holland (Tokyo, Japan/Iowa Western CC) has been named Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) First Team All-East Region and sophomore Johannes Hanken Tjostheim (Aalesund, Norway/Spring Hill College) has been tabbed Second Team All-East Region, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Holland is named All-Region in his first season as a Maverick after being named ECC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC. The junior was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week twice after starting all 18 games with three goals, three assists and nine points. Holland helped lead a Mercy backline that allowed just 21 goals in 18 games. The junior had a season-high two goals in the win over Roberts Wesleyan on September 30th. Holland also scored a goal against Wilmington and had an assist against Queens, Molloy and Daemen.

Hanken Tjostheim is tabbed All-Region in his first season at Mercy after being named First Team All-ECC. The sophomore was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week three times and played in 16 games with 14 starts, recording a team-high 13 goals and 30 points. Hanken Tjostheim tied for the ECC lead in goals and was third in points. The forward also had a team-high four game-winning goals and had a season-high three goals in the win at Roberts Wesleyan on September 30th. The sophomore also had two goals and an assist in the win over Saint Rose and had two goals in the win over Millersville on October 4th.
