DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 19, 2023) – The Mercy University men's soccer team is ranked fifth in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region Top 10 Poll.
The Mavericks remain the same in the poll after going 1-0-1 last week with a 0-0 draw at AIC and a 3-0 win over D'Youville in their ECC opener on Saturday. Mercy currently sits at 3-1-2 on the year. The Mavericks have been led by senior Carlos Fernandes who has a team-high nine points on three goals and three assists. Junior Eirik Elvestad is 3-1-2 in goal with 17 saves, a .773 save percentage and 0.83 goals-against average in six starts.
Head Coach Pedro Velazquez and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday, September 23rd when they play at Queens at 7:30 p.m.
