DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 1, 2024) – The Mercy University men's soccer team is ranked No. 14 nationally in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll and is ranked second in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region Top 10 Poll.
The Mavericks move up 11 spots in the national poll and one spot in the regional poll after going 1-0 last week with a 5-1 win over UDC. Mercy is currently 4-0-2 on the year and have been led by one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week junior Johannes Hanken Tjostheim who has an ECC-best 10 goals and 22 points. One-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week Eirik Elvestad is 4-0-2 in goal with 30 saves and four shutouts.
Head Coach Pedro Velazquez and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they play at Molloy at 7 p.m.
