DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 25, 2024) – The Mercy University volleyball team has received the program's seventh-ever bid into the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. The Mavericks earned the No. 6 seed in the East Region by virtue of going 16-10, advancing to the ECC Championship Final for the first time since 2005. Mercy has earned their second straight NCAA Tournament berth. All matches for the East Region will take place at top-seeded Bentley University.
Mercy will now face No. 3 seed American International College in a First Round matchup on Thursday, December 5th at Bentley University at 1:30 p.m. The two teams met on November 6th at AIC with the Yellow Jackets earning a 3-0 win.
The Mavericks are making their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Last season, Mercy won their first NCAA Tournament match since 2001. The Mavericks advanced to the National Quarterfinals in 2001. Mercy has their most wins since 2005 and have been led by ECC Setter of the Year sophomore Adriana Rivera Rodriguez, ECC Rookie of the Year freshman Grace Dilena and First Team All-ECC selections graduate student Julia Pomerleau and junior Gabriela Bieniek.
