COLONIA, N.J. (Nov. 6, 2024) – Mercy University women's soccer junior Ancksu Dixon (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) and senior Skyler Schwenkler (San Diego, Calif./Grossmont) have been named First Team All-Conference by the East Coast Conference (ECC), freshman Alyssa Santiago (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) has been tabbed Second Team All-Conference and freshmen Hailey Metzger (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) and Anneliese Becker (Stafford, Va./Mountain View), seniors Elizabeth Bowles (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers Montessori Academy) and Amber Garcia (Corona, Calif./Chaffey College) and junior Anna Deutscher (Heidenheim, Germany/Monroe CC) have been named Third Team All-Conference, as announced by the conference office earlier today.
The eight All-Conference honorees helped lead the Mavericks to their 11th straight ECC Championship appearance.
Dixon is named First Team All-ECC for the third straight year. The junior has started all 18 games and has a team-high 10 goals and 26 points with a team-high five game-winning goals. The forward is currently second in the ECC in goals, assists and points. The one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week during the season had a season-high three goals in the win over Felician on September 14th.
Schwenkler is tabbed First Team All-ECC for the third time and has been named All-Conference all four years during her career. The ECC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year recorded three goals and one assist in 14 games, scoring a season-high two goals against New Haven on October 2nd. The one-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week also scored a goal against Chestnut Hill on October 8th.
Santiago is named All-Conference after her first season as a Maverick. The freshman appeared in all 18 games making 17 starts and had one assist in 1,375 minutes played. The midfielder recorded an assist in Mercy's win over New Haven on October 2nd.
Metzger receives All-Conference honors following her first season as a Maverick. The one-time ECC Rookie of the Week appeared in 18 games making 12 starts with three goals, seven assists and 13 points. The freshman leads the ECC in assists and is ninth in points. Metzger had a season-high three points on a goal and an assist in the win over Georgian Court on September 11th.
Becker takes home All-Conference recognition after her first season as a Maverick. The two-time ECC Rookie of the Week started all 18 games in goal and went 9-7-2 with 66 saves, a .767 save percentage and 1.11 goals-against average. The freshman made a career-high nine saves in the 1-1 draw against Saint Anselm on September 17th. Becker led the ECC in shutouts and was second in goals-against average.
Bowles is named All-Conference for the first time. The senior appeared in all 18 games making five starts with two goals, two assists and six points. The midfielder had a season-high three points on a goal and an assist in the win at Dominican on October 16th.
Garcia takes home All-Conference accolades for the first time. The senior appeared in 16 games making 14 starts with one assist in 1,293 minutes played. The defender recorded an assist in the win at Dominican on October 16th.
Deutscher is also named All-Conference following her first season at Mercy. The junior appeared in 17 games making 10 starts with two goals, four assists and eight points. The midfielder recorded a goal in the win over Roberts Wesleyan on October 5th and had a season-high two assists in the win over Chestnut Hill on October 8th.
