DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy University Women's Soccer senior Ancksu Dixon (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) has been named United Soccer Coaches First Team All-East Region, freshmen Casey Szczotka (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck) and Camila Salvador (Santiago, Chile/Santiago College) have been named Second Team All-Region and junior Sarah Lill Hanks (Skedsmokorset, Norway/High Point University) and sophomore Hailey Metzger (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) have been tabbed Third Team All-Region, as announced by the organization earlier today.
Dixon receives First Team honors for the second straight year and is named All-Region all four years at Mercy. Dixon was also named D2CCA Second Team All-Region last month. The senior was named First Team All-ECC for the fourth straight year. The forward played in all 21 games, recording 13 goals, five assists and 31 points. She led the team in goals and points and ranked second in the ECC in goals and points. Dixon set the school record for career goals and points. The senior ends her career with a school record 41 goals, 27 assists and 109 points in 77 games.
Szczotka is tabbed All-Region after her first season as a Maverick. The freshman was named D2CCA Second Team All-Region last month. The ECC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-ECC selection played in all 21 games making 20 starts with four goals, one assist and nine points. The three-time ECC Rookie of the Week honoree helped lead a Mercy backline that allowed just 19 goals in 21 games.
Salvador earns All-Region honors following her first season at Mercy. The freshman was also named D2CCA Second Team All-Region. The First Team All-ECC selection and three-time ECC Rookie of the Week honoree played in 20 games, making 19 starts with four goals, five assists and 13 points. The midfielder was tied for second on the team in assists and third on the team in points.
Lill Hanks is named All-Region after her first season as a Maverick. The junior was also named D2CCA First Team All-Region. The ECC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC selection started all 21 games and had three assists in 1,892 minutes. The defender helped lead a Mercy backline that allowed just 19 goals in 21 games. Lill Hanks recorded assists in wins over Goldey-Beacom, Wilmington and Holy Family.
Metzger is named All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches after being named Second Team All-Region by the D2CCA. The sophomore was named Second Team All-ECC and ECC Offensive Player of the Week twice after playing in all 21 games with nine goals, 12 assists and 30 points. The forward led the team in assists and was second in goals and points. She led the ECC in assists and was third in points. Metzger ranked fourth nationally in assists and tied the single season school record for assists.
