DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 24, 2024) – The Mercy University men's soccer team is ranked No. 25 nationally in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll and is ranked third in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region Top 10 Poll.
The Mavericks fall one spot in the national poll and remain the same in the regional poll after going 1-0-1 last week with a 4-0 win over RV West Chester and a 1-1 draw against D'Youville. Mercy is currently 3-0-2 on the year and have been led by one-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week junior Johannes Hanken Tjostheim who has a team-high eight goals and 17 points. One-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week senior Eirik Elvestad is 3-0-2 in goal with 28 saves and four shutouts.
Head Coach Pedro Velazquez and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday when they play at UDC at 3 p.m.
