COLONIA, N.J. (Mar. 10, 2025) – Mercy University women's lacrosse freshman Ashlinn Kelly (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the second time and senior Leah Hansen (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields) and sophomore Riley Wallace (Islip, N.Y./Islip) have been tabbed to the Honor Roll for Week Four.
Kelly notched six goals, a team-high six caused turnovers, and two ground balls as Mercy went 1-1 against nationally-ranked competition. The freshman opened the week with three goals, two ground balls, and three caused turnovers in the Mavericks' 15-4 win over #24 Assumption on Wednesday. Kelly ended the week with three goals and three caused turnovers at #18 Bentley on Saturday.
Hansen had a team-high nine points on a team-high seven goals with two assists, three ground balls, and one caused turnover as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened the week with a game-high four goals to go along with two ground balls and a caused turnover in Mercy's 15-4 win over #24 Assumption on Wednesday. Hansen ended the week with a team-high five points on three goals and two assists with a ground ball in Mercy's 14-13 loss at #18 Bentley on Saturday.
Wallace had five goals and six points with a team-high 15 draw controls to go with five ground balls and one caused turnover as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The sophomore began the week with three goals, three ground balls, five draw controls, and one caused turnover in Mercy's 15-4 win over #24 Assumption on Wednesday. Wallace ended the week with two goals, an assist, two ground balls and a game-high 10 draw controls at #18 Bentley on Saturday.
The award is the third for Kelly, the second for Hansen and the third for Wallace. Mercy has now earned 13 awards on the year.
Head Coach Dawn Sachs and the Mavericks resume action on Sunday when they play at Tampa at 3 p.m.
