COLONIA, N.J. (Mar. 24, 2025) – Mercy University women's lacrosse senior Lindsey Shimborske (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for Week Six for the third time this season.

Shimborske held her own against the top two teams in the country last week, posting 13 ground balls, six caused turnovers, and eight draw controls. The Mercy senior opened the week with seven ground balls, three caused turnovers, and two draw controls at defending National Champion #1 Tampa on Monday. The defender ended the week with a game-high six ground balls and three caused turnovers to go with six draw controls in Mercy's 12-8 loss at #2 Florida Southern on Wednesday. 

The award is the fourth for Shimborske this season and Mercy has earned 14 awards on the year.

Head Coach Dawn Sachs and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday when they play at Jefferson at 3 p.m.
