COLONIA, N.J. (Mar. 6, 2025) – Mercy University men's basketball freshman Nathan Robertson (Boston, Mass./The Winchendon School) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-ECC, as announced by the conference office earlier today.
Robertson was the unanimous choice for Rookie of the Year and becomes Mercy's first Rookie of the Year since Kerwin Prince earned the honor in 2021. The freshman also becomes the Mavericks' first All-Conference recipient since Jayden Dewaal in 2023.
The guard led all ECC freshmen in scoring (16.6 ppg), field goal percentage (50.6, 163-for-322), rebounding (6.7 rpg), assists (4.5 apg), and steals (2.0 spg), all of which ranked in the league's top ten. The six-time ECC Rookie of the Week scoring in double figures 23 times on the year. Robertson led the team in points per game, field goal percentage and was second in assists. The freshman scored a career-high 29 points at Saint Michael's on December 20th.
