Hansen and Kelly Headline Four Mavericks Named to ECC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Report

COLONIA, N.J. (Apr. 14, 2025) – Mercy University women's lacrosse senior Leah Hansen (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Ashlinn Kelly (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) has been tabbed Rookie of the Week for Week Nine. Sophomore Riley Wallace (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and freshman Kayden Meyer (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) have been named to the Honor Roll.

Hansen had a team-high 15 points on a team-high nine goals and six assists with three caused turnovers and three ground balls as Mercy went 2-0 in a pair of conference games. The senior opened the week with a game-high six points on three goals and three assists to go with three caused turnovers and a ground ball in the conference win over STAC on Wednesday. Hansen ended the week with a game-high and career-high-tying nine points on a game-high six goals and three assists with two ground balls in Mercy's win at D'Youville on Sunday. 

Kelly had 10 points on eight goals and two assists with four caused turnovers, seven draw controls, and two ground balls to help lead a Mercy defense that allowed just eight goals in a 2-0 conference week. The freshman opened the week with four goals, an assist and a caused turnover in the 20-2 win over STAC on Wednesday. Kelly ended the week with four goals, an assist, seven draw controls, two ground balls and a game-high three caused turnovers in Mercy's 21-6 win at D'Youville on Sunday. 

Wallace had eight points on seven goals and an assist with three draw controls as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with four goals, an assist, and three draw controls in the win over STAC on Wednesday. The midfielder ended the week with three goals in the win at D'Youville on Sunday. 

Meyer had nine points on six goals and three assists to go with one caused turnover, one draw control, and two ground balls as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The freshman opened the week with two goals, two assists and two ground balls in the win over STAC on Wednesday. The midfielder ended the week with four goals, an assist, one caused turnover and one draw control in the win at D'Youville on Sunday. 

The award is the third for Hansen this season and the sixth for Kelly. Kelly has now been named Rookie of the Week four times. The award is the fifth for Wallace and the third for Meyer. Mercy has now earned 25 awards on the year.

Head Coach Dawn Sachs and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday when they play at No. 9 Pace at 7 p.m.
