COLONIA, N.J. (Apr. 28, 2025) – Mercy University women's lacrosse junior Olivia LaMonica (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11 and senior Lindsey Shimborske (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) and freshman Ashlinn Kelly (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) have been tabbed to the Honor Roll.
LaMonica made a game-high and career-high 14 saves with just eight goals allowed to earn the win in Mercy's 10-8 victory over defending ECC Champion Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday that gave the Mavericks a share of the ECC Regular Season Championship and the top seed for the upcoming ECC Women's Lacrosse Championship. LaMonica recorded her 200th career save in the win.
Shimborske had a game-high six ground balls and six draw controls with three caused turnovers in Mercy's 10-8 win over defending ECC Champion Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday that gave the Mavericks a share of the ECC Regular Season Championship and the top seed in this week's ECC Women's Lacrosse Championship.
