As A Junior (2009-10): Played in 23 games … scored 317 points, averaging 13.8 per game … grabbed 92 rebounds and had 64 assists … had a season-high 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds vs. NYIT on Jan. 11 … had seven assists at U Mass-Lowell on Nov. 15 … had a double-double vs. C.W. Post (Jan. 16) with 20 points and ten rebounds.

Before Mercy: Played basketball for two years at Iowa Central CC … he averaged 16 points per game in his freshman year and 15 in his sophomore season … during his sophomore season, he was named to the Junior College All-conference Second-team … before Iowa Central, Powell attended Redemption Christian Academy, where he played basketball for four years … averaged 17 points per game in his senior year … won the high school state championship during his freshman year.

Personal: Born Hasan T. Powell … the son of Syiena Powell and Bobby Harrell … has one sibling Shabazz Powell (17) … a business administration major … wants to play professional basketball … enjoys playing video games, taking walks along the beach and fishing.
