DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (July 16, 2020) – Mercy College women's soccer 2020 graduate Trista Seara (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) has signed with the FC Malaga City Academy in Spain.
FC Malaga City Academy gives a player more than just football coaching, it provides the opportunity to be fully submerged in the life of a professional player for a full ten month season in Spain. Their program includes training six days per week, an unrivaled fixture program, access to some of the region's finest coaches and tailor made development plans to give players the best opportunity to improve.
The club is built with one goal in mind – to develop and enhance players both on and off the field. As the success of the players moving on has grown, so to have their infrastructure and projects; they offer four different footballing projects ranging from U19 Academy Football, U23s and Senior Teams.
Seara had an outstanding four-year career as a Maverick, recording eight goals, a school record 20 assists, 36 points and five game-winning goals in 76 games. The native of Lindenhurst, New York was a three-time All-ECC selection, two-time All-Region honoree and team captain. She also excelled in the classroom having been named CoSIDA Academic All-District once and to the ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll three times.
As a senior, Seara appeared in and started in all 20 games and had six goals, a team-high six assists and 18 points. She had a team-high three game-winning goals and was named First Team All-ECC and First Team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches and D2CCA.
During her junior season, Seara played in and started in all 17 games and was named Third Team All-ECC after recording two goals and four assists. As a sophomore, Seara helped lead the Mavericks to their second ECC Championship and first-ever Final Four appearance. She was named Second Team All-ECC and First Team All-Region after appearing in 21 games with 20 starts, tying for the team lead with eight assists. During her freshman campaign, Seara saw action in 18 games making 16 starts and had two assists.
