DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 22, 2021) – The No. 6 seeded Mercy College women's soccer team will face No. 1 seeded The College of Saint Rose in the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, December 2nd at 10 a.m. at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.
The East Region and Atlantic Region alternate hosting responsibilities for the Third Round and Quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament and this year is the Atlantic Region's turn to host. Concord University will be the host school after being the highest remaining seed to advance from the Atlantic Region. The winner of the Mercy/Saint Rose game will face the winner of No. 2 Concord/No. 5 West Chester in the National Quarterfinals on Saturday, December 4th at 1 p.m. at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex.
Ticket prices for the games will be $10 for adults, $5 for students with ID and senior citizens, children ages 2-12 will be admitted free and an all-session pass will be $25.
The Mavericks have advanced to the Third Round for the third time in program history. Mercy has advanced past the Third Round once in program history (2017) and during that year advanced all the way to the Final Four. Mercy is 0-6-2 all-time against Saint Rose with the last meeting coming in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament in 2018. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie with Saint Rose advancing after winning penalty kicks, 4-3. The teams also met in the East Region Final in 2014 with Saint Rose earning a 3-0 win at West Chester University. Saint Rose will be making their 12th appearance in the East Region Final.
