COLONIA, N.J. (Sept. 16, 2024) – Mercy University women's soccer junior Ancksu Dixon (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Week Two. Junior Ella Brower (Huntington Station, N.Y./The College of Saint Rose) and freshmen Hailey Metzger (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) and Anneliese Becker (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) were tabbed to the Honor Roll.
Dixon recorded a team-high four goals and 10 points as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The junior opened the week with a goal and two assists in the Mavericks' 3-1 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday. The forward ended the week with a career-high three goals in just 49 minutes of action, including the game-winning goal, in Mercy's 4-0 win over Felician on Saturday. Dixon currently leads the ECC in goals (5) and points (12).
Brower had a career-high three assists in Mercy's 4-0 win over Felician on Saturday.
Metzger had a goal and two assists in two games as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The freshman opened the week with her first career goal and an assist in the Mavericks' 3-1 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday. Metzger ended the week with an assist in Mercy's 4-0 win over Felician on Saturday.
Becker went 2-0 in goal with four saves, an .800 save percentage, one shutout, and a 0.50 goals-against average. The freshman opened the week with two saves and just one goal allowed to earn the win in Mercy's 3-1 victory over Georgian Court on Wednesday. Becker ended the week with two saves to record her first collegiate shutout in the Mavericks' 4-0 win over Felician on Saturday.
The award is the second for Dixon and Metzger this season and the first for Brower and Becker. Mercy has now earned seven awards on the year.
