COLONIA, N.J. (May 7, 2025) - Mercy University baseball sophomore Peyton Jemison (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury), juniors John Nisco (Tarrytown, N.Y./Sleepy Hollow) and Kolongi Goins (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./FDR) and freshmen Andre Jenkins (Chester, N.Y./Chester Academy) and Gordon Votruba (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham Wading River) have been named ECC Baseball First Team All-Conference and seniors Alfred Hoti (New York, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy), Joseph Gonzalez (Monroe, N.Y./Rockland CC), Gabe Sanders (Dunedin, Fla./Central Alabama CC) and Matthew Manzoeillo (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon) and junior Zach Ashline (Colonie, N.Y./Colonie Central) have been tabbed Second Team All-Conference. The 10 All-Conference selections are the most in program history and the most out of any ECC school this year.
Jemison is named All-Conference for the first time after hitting a team-high and ECC-best .411 with 76 hits, 49 runs, 36 RBI, 19 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 14 stolen bases. The third baseman set single-season school records for hits and doubles and led the ECC in hits and doubles and was second in triples. The sophomore went 5-for-5 with four runs, three doubles and two RBI in the win over New Haven on April 30th.
Nisco takes home All-Conference honors for the first time after hitting .344 with 63 hits, 50 runs, 55 RBI, nine home runs, nine doubles, three triples, and 13 stolen bases. The outfielder ranked third in the ECC in runs and home runs and tied for the ECC lead in RBI. The junior set a new single-season school record for RBI and recorded his 100th career hit during the season. Nisco went 6-for-11 with eight RBI and two home runs against Staten Island on April 3rd.
Goins is tabbed All-Conference for the first time after being named ECC Player of the Week twice. The outfielder hit .397 with 56 hits, 42 runs, 25 RBI, eight doubles and five stolen bases. The junior ranks second in the ECC in average and went 5-for-5 with two RBI in the win over Molloy on March 30th.
Jenkins receives All-Conference recognition after his first season as a Maverick. The two-time ECC Rookie of the Week went 5-1 with a team-best 3.84 ERA in 61.0 innings with 39 strikeouts. The freshman ranks fourth in the ECC in ERA and is second in wins. Jenkins pitched 7.1 innings with no earned runs allowed to earn the win over Queens on April 25th.
Votruba is named All-Conference following his first year as a Maverick. The freshman is 0-2 with three saves, a 3.96 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 38.2 innings pitched. The pitcher tied for the team lead in appearances and ranked in the top 10 in the ECC in saves. Votruba pitched 5.1 innings with one run allowed against D'Youville on April 13th.
Hoti is tabbed Second Team All-Conference for the second straight year. The senior is hitting .280 on the year with 13 RBI, 27 runs, 26 hits, four doubles, one home run and eight runners thrown out from behind the dish. The catcher went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI on Senior Day against Queens on April 26th.
Gonzalez is named All-Conference for the first time after hitting .339 with 30 RBI, 63 hits, five doubles, three triples, 34 runs and 25 stolen bases. The senior ranks second in the ECC in stolen bases and is third in hits. The shortstop went 6-for-7 with four RBI against Kutztown on March 15th. Gonzalez recorded his 100th career hit and 100th career run scored during the season.
Sanders receives All-Conference for the first time after being named ECC Player of the Week once. The senior is hitting .315 with 33 RBI, 33 runs, 53 hits, 15 doubles, and four home runs. The outfielder ranks third in the ECC in doubles and went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBI against Southern Connecticut State on March 12th. Sanders recorded his 100th career hit during the season.
Manzoeillo is named All-Conference for the first time after going 6-3 with a 5.52 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 45.2 innings pitched. The senior has tied the single-season school record for wins and leads the ECC in wins. The pitcher pitched 4.0 shutout innings with five strikeouts against Bloomfield on March 2nd.
Ashline is named Second Team All-Conference for the second time in his career after earning the honor in 2023. The junior is hitting .292 with 37 RBI, eight home runs, 27 runs, 50 hits, and 12 doubles. The designated hitter ranks fifth in the ECC in home runs and recorded his 100th career hit during the season. Ashline went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI against Molloy on March 29th.
