WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (May 11, 2022) – Mercy College baseball freshman Jaden Caballero (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) has been named First Team All-Conference by the East Coast Conference (ECC), as announced by the conference office earlier today. Juniors Nolan Giblin (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) and Kevin Seckler (Beacon, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), graduate student Kuzari Jocelyn (Brooklyn, N.Y./Abraham Lincoln) and freshman Nathan Rodriguez (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) were tabbed Second Team All-Conference.

Caballero is named All-Conference after his first season as a Maverick. The freshman was named ECC Rookie of the Week three times and was named ECC Player of the Week once. He hit a team-high .376 with 65 hits to go along with three home runs and 26 RBI. The shortstop also has 36 runs and a team-high 20 stolen bases and 14 doubles in 45 games. Caballero currently leads the ECC in hits, is second in stolen bases and fourth in doubles.

Giblin is named All-Conference for the first time after being named ECC Rookie of the Year last season. The junior has been named to the ECC Honor Roll once and is hitting .371 with a team-high 34 RBI, 40 runs and six home runs. He also is second on the team with 59 hits and is third on the team with 10 stolen bases.

Seckler takes home All-Conference accolades for the first time. He was named ECC Pitcher of the Week once after going 5-1 on the mound with a 4.45 ERA in 60.2 innings with 35 strikeouts in 14 appearances. Seckler was 3-0 in ECC play with a 2.61 ERA and one complete game. The junior tied for the team lead in wins.

Jocelyn is also named All-Conference for the first time after going 2-1 with a team-high three saves. He also had a 2.50 ERA in 18.0 innings with 11 strikeouts and held the opposition to a .150 batting average in 13 appearances out of the bullpen.

Rodriguez receives All-Conference recognition after his first season as a Maverick. He hit .242 with 15 RBI, 12 runs, 22 hits and four doubles. The freshman also went 1-2 on the mound with 15 strikeouts in 20.1 innings pitched.
