WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Feb. 27, 2023) – Mercy College baseball junior Gabe Sanders (Dunedin, Fla./Central Alabama CC) has been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Baseball Honor Roll for Week Two.

Sanders hit a team-high .381 (8-for-21) with a team-high five RBI to go along with six runs, two doubles, a home run and two stolen bases in six games this week. The junior opened the week going 1-for-4 with three runs and an RBI in Mercy's upset win over UNC Pembroke on Tuesday. Sanders then went 3-for-4 with a run and two doubles against Franklin Pierce on Thursday. He then went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI against Felician on Friday. Sanders went 1-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored in the doubleheader against Southern N.H. on Saturday. Sanders ended the week going 1-for-3 against Le Moyne on Sunday.

The award is the first earned by Sanders this season and the Mavericks have earned three awards on the year.

Head Coach Chris Schoen and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday, March 4th when they play at Southern Connecticut State for a doubleheader at 12 p.m.
